About the Artist

I am a 1979 graduate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. My graduating year I took first place with my Andretti illustration (pictured), in AIP’s yearly competition. From there my work went on to New York and the Society of Illustrators Competition and I placed as a top ten finalist and a scholarship recipient.

My first employment was as an illustrator for Roach Incorporated, the nation’s largest tee shirt transfer manufacture. I created hundreds of illustrations during my tenure and pictured are a couple of my designs. No More Mr. Nice Guy sold an average 60K designs on a monthly basis!

I also worked at Fahlgren Mortine in the 80’s and one of my first projects was to design and illustrate the Flintstones Push-Up product packaging (pictured), and the line became the #2 novelty ice cream product in the nation. Back in those days there were no computers, so all illustrations were created by hand using a paint brush for line work and then airbrushed.

My claim to fame came as a freelancer, I had contracts with Air Studio in Cincinnati and also Hellman’s Associates where I landed a contract to design and illustrate multiple Mead Trapper Keepers for 3 years. Pictured is the Panther and BMX Bike designs that sold out immediately! At the time I was an airbrush instructor at Columbus College of Art & Design and would pay students if they could find them on the shelves which was impossible, but we managed to snag a few. In the late 90’s, I had the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears and created a mascot as seen on the field today.

After a 43-year career in advertising and running my own virtual agency, Insero Group for 16 years, my goal is to do more of what I love to do and that’s working with my clients to give them an unforgettable experience and unveil a piece of art they’ll treasure forever.

I appreciate your time reviewing my work. Please feel free to contact me by email, text or call to get more information, pricing and details how to get started!

Thank you,

Dave
